The values, given in the table above for the permissible total weight of the accumulated workpiece carriers (WT) and the permissible conveying speed, apply with a belt friction of µ=0,07 between workpiece carrier and conveyor band and with the use of an ASUTEC standard stop.
The minimum WT weight of 40 kg specified in the working range table refers to the condition that the damping unit is unscrewed by 5.5 turns. In this state, the maximum workpiece carrier weight that can be stopped is reduced by half. When the damping unit is fully screwed in, the minimum WT weight is 70 kg. You can find detailed information about this in the operating instructions in Chapter 3.

The specified weight range is composed of the minimum workpiece carrier weight mmin and the maximum workpiece carrier weight m_max.
Minimum propulsive force:
The minimum propulsive force can be calculated using the formula F_Rmin = m_min · g · µ.
For the ASMEL-1050 – F_Rmin = 27,5 N up to 51,5 N, depending on the screw-in depth of the damping unit. This minimum propulsive force must not be less than this, in order to ensure that the stop can be pushed by the WT into its damped (retracted) position.
Maximum propulsive force:
F_Rmax = 721 N. This maximum propulsive force may not be exceeded in order to ensure a sufficient damping effect and to ensure a sufficient force for lowering.
The specified value F_Rmax = 721 N is based on a coefficient of friction μ = 0.2 between the stop plate and the workpiece carrier.

Stop module with damping ASMEL-1050

For stopping and separating of one or more accumulated workpiece carriers on a defined workpiece carrier stop surface.
The stoppers of the ASMEL-205 and ASMEL-1050 series differ from the stoppers of the ASMEL-200/-500/-680/-1000 series in that the stop performs a pivoting movement when damping and that the damping unit can be screwed out. So the damping effect can be adjusted. This means that lighter workpiece carriers can be damped and stopped with less propulsive force. The damping end position is reached more reliable.

MAINTENANCE

No maintenance is required. The area around the stop plate must be clean and exempt from swarf to guarantee an exactly positioning of the workpiece carrier.
